Undercover and under the covers. In the privacy of our bedroom is the place we typically go when we want a little “one on one” time with ourselves (if you know what I mean). But masterbating at home can be so mundane, and there’s got to be some more exciting and not so conventional places where people go to release their inhibitions. Like you know, at the office, or the laundry room, or on your mom’s pillow.
In a project called “Little Deaths,” London-based photographer, Polly Brown discovers and shares with us all the non-traditional and unexpected places where people have reached their self induced climaxes. And yes, on mom’s pillow was one of them.
The project itself, as Polly states, was an “accident,” sparked by one of her fellow photographer friends who admitted to masterbating in the photography dark room. Intrigued by the unique reveal, Polly set up an email for friends to anonymously share their personal places of pleasure. The project is intended to feel like a confessional; a place where people could share their dirty little secrets.
Unlike typical confessionals, the “Little Deaths” collection isn’t asking for anyone’s forgiveness. Instead, the publication acts as a safe, quirky place for people to unapologetically reveal something they would have otherwise kept hidden beneath their covers.
