Video game aficionados and art enthusiasts rejoice, the developers at Loot Interactive have created a game that merges both worlds in a way that is both cultured and challenging.
Back to Bed is a game that allows players to navigate through a dreamworld inspired by the artworks of renowned surrealist artists like Salvador Dali, M.C. Escher, and René Magritte. According to the website, the game was also all hand drawn and animated, further showing their commitment to these works of art.
The premise is to navigate the sleepwalking subconscious of a fellow named Bob through a checkered bizarre dreamland filled with stairways, portals, and obstacles to lead him safely back to bed. The 30 levels will rival your strangest dreams and pose puzzles that require some serious creative problem solving.
In addition to the 30 levels, there are also a variety of different play settings with whimsical names such as “30 Flights of Frenzy,” “Puzzle Gameplay Turned Upside Down,” “Appreciate the Art of Impossible,” and “Nightmare Mode.”
Funded by a Kickstarter campaign in 2013 and originally intended as a mobile game for iOS and Android, the game is now being developed for PlayStation 3 and 4, as well as Sony’s Vita system.
