Red Bull is the leading global brand in energy drinks, but unlike their competitors, they put a great deal of time and money into culturally rich events. Red Bull has opened multi-disciplinary project spaces in major cities around the world that aim to support their creative communities (earlier this summer we featured LUMA, an interactive sound and light exhibit at their New York location).
This Fall, Red Bull is sponsoring a different kind of interactive art exhibition, Red Bull Art of Can. This is an art competition that allows participants to upload their work to an online gallery under one condition…the works have to be created using cans of Red Bull. The cans can be either physically or digitally altered for the three categories of “Physical Art”, “Digital Displayed Art”, and “Interactive Installation Art”.
During the first week of October, the 100+ works will be displayed at the Dilworth Park Center City in Philadelphia. Judges will select three winners for the Physical and Digital Art category, and award a $10,000 cash grant to one winner of the Interactive Art category.
Red Bull may not be able to “give you wings,” but they can give emerging artists invaluable exposure.
