Artist Bill Barminski‘s pop-art sculptures have long poked fun at capitalism. His new proposed series, Green Plastic Businessmen, seeks to the do the same with equally anti-capitalist funding: the crowd-sourced kind!
Barminski’s Kickstarter will allow the artist to create a series of sculptures of businessmen à la toy soldier. Six molds in total – suit-and-tie types brandishing spiked clubs, grenades, and automatic weapons – will yield a limited edition of foot-tall figurines for the group of financial backers. The project is a cheeky little jab at the bureaucratic set and the one-percenters who take up arms to guard their precious and ill-gotten gains.
Like these little fellas? Check out some of Barminski’s other sculptures that mock consumerism, like his Mickey Mouse gasmask or cardboard Air Jordans.
Also…is it just us, or do these little guys remind you an awful lot of these suited soldiers?
