Let’s all take a minute to wish the late great, Egon Schiele a quick Happy Birthday today!
Born in 1890, the dude is ancient history, but his art will continue to inspire for many generations to come. One of the most influential Expressionist painters from Austria, Schiele had tremendous skill and loved to paint humans (mostly himself). This early 20th century genius is a contemporary of Gustav Klimt, with whom he shared a similar promiscuous sexual appetite (he was once rumored to have 180 female “visitors” passing through his studio within an eight-month period).
Egon’s personal and professional career are things of legends- I mean, he practically invented the bad boy peace sign pose (see below).
