Everyone knows that rock stars are babe magnets, and no one is babelier than Mick Jagger (if you were born after 1990, you may need to do a quick google search of young Mick to see for yourself). In their prime, the Rolling Stones attracted such iconic beauties as Jane Birkin, Marianne Faithful, and the painfully stylish, Bianca Jagger.
NY-based artist, Liz Markus, immortalized these leggy ladies in her show “Girlfriends of the Rolling Stones,” which closes July 23rd at the Gallery 151 Annex in NY. The acrylic and pencil works manage to perfectly capture the free spirit and mischief of these beauties of the 1960’s and 70’s.
“These women were every inch the equal to the boys in the band,” says Markus in an INTERVIEW .
If you like these ladies of rock n’ roll, you should definitely also check out Markus’s Town and Country series, where she paints portraits of the social elite. Follow her on social media to keep track of her upcoming shows.
