As we’re nearing the end of the New York City summer art lull, we are chomping at the bit for the next must-see show. Well, we have a good one for you: Alt Space is teaming up with the spunky online exhibition space, Art Baby Gallery, for a show that even Lena Denham (from HBO Girls) would approve.
The exhibition, Girls At Night On The Internet will feature new works by talented young emerging artists whose work is primarily popular online. They are the cyber it-girls whose work is plastered all over Instagram, Pinterest, and tumblr – though they rarely get the credit they deserve in real life.
The gallery space in Brooklyn will be trumpeting the female-empowered nuance of the pre-existing Art Baby Gallery collections. Curated by Grace Miceli, the head-honcho at Art Baby, she aims to reveal the artists who are “traditionally underrepresented or overlooked by the traditional art world.”
The works featured manage to fearlessly (and often humorously) capture the experience of coming of age as a female – in the internet age. Some of the artists represented include Orr Amran, Arvida Byström, Petra Collins, Miza Coplin, Maggie Dunlap, Vivian Fu, India K, Ayqa Khan, Pierre Krause, Maja Malou Lyse, Morgan Maher, Molly Matalon, Grace Miceli, Aleia Murawski, Shana Sadeghi-Ray, Luisa Rodriguez, Sanam Sindhi, and Molly Soda.

The show opens this Friday and runs through mid-September, so stop by to meet the ladies who make your Instagram feed a lot more cool.
